Jetstar has announced plans to recruit up to 100 pilots over the next 12 to 18 months to join its new Jetstar Japan operation.

Jetstar says it will give “preference” to A320 rated crew for the new positions, as Jetstar Japan, which will begin operations in late 2012, plans to operate up to 24 A320s “within its first few years of operation”.

Earlier last week Jetstar announced the appointment of Ms Miyuki Suzuki as CEO of Jetstar Japan, which is a joint venture between the Qantas Group, Japan Air Lines and Mitsubishi.
