A Qantas 737-800 is wearing a moustache this month to help raise awareness of prostate cancer.

The Mo – and another one painted on Qantas Terminal 3 in Sydney – are part of “Movember”, an annual event launched in Australia in 2003 that encourages men to grow moustaches and raise money for prostate cancer research.

“Seeing a moustache sprout on the nose of a plane has long been an ambition of the team at Mo HQ and we’re all very excited to see this finally happening,” Movember CEO Jason Hincks said in a statement.

Qantas CEO Alan Joyce was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer earlier this year but credits early detection and treatment with saving his life.

Qantas has previously announced a three-year partnership with the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia to help raise awareness about the disease among its customers and employees.
