Rex receives CASA ‘Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation’ approval

written by WOFA | November 8, 2011
Rex has been approved as a continuing airworthiness management organisation.

Regional Express has become the first carrier approved under revamped aviation safety regulations.

The new Part 42 regulations separate the responsibility for managing continuing airworthiness from the actual conduct of maintenance and require RPT operators to establish a continuing airworthiness management organisation, according to the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).

In a statement, Regional Express praised the new regulatory regime, saying it allowed operators to develop mechanisms for safety compliance appropriate for their operating environment, rather than forcing carriers to follow a “one-size-fits-all” approach.

Australia’s largest independent regional airline, Regional Express operates a fleet of 40 Saab 340 aircraft on some 1300 weekly flights.
