Virgin enlists Apple, major retailers to frequent flyer scheme

written by WOFA | October 22, 2012
Virgin Australia has added iTunes and international retailers to its frequent flyer scheme.

Members of Virgin Australia’s Veloctity Frequent Flyer scheme can now earn points through the online shopping sites of Macy’s, Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue, Top Shop and iTunes Australia, significantly bolstering the attractiveness of the scheme as Virgin works to wrest loyal frequent flyers off Qantas.

All five retailers can be accessed via the Velocity Global eStore.

Said Velocity Frequent Flyer CEO Neil Thompson:“We are committed to offering a frequent flyer program that is rich and rewarding for members and we are pleased that Velocity Frequent Flyer is the only frequent flyer program in Australia to offer access to international, online department stores.”
