Hawker Pacific has sold the first diesel-powered Twin Diamond in Australia following a successful demonstration tour of the aircraft.

The DA42-NG has been sold to Australian Wings Academy for use at its Gold Coast training facility.

Hawker Pacific’s Tony Jones said: “This is the second aircraft to be sold from the demonstration tour, the first being a DA40-XLS which we sold in May this year to another flight training school based in QLD. Diamonds are incredibly durable, cost effective machines and, fitted with the latest leading technologies, will no doubt be the global training aircraft of choice for the foreseeable future.”

Equipped with twin Ae300 turbo diesel engines, the DA42-NG is renowned for its fuel economy and range, making it well-suited to cross-country flying.
