Tiger on the prowl for new CEO as David escapes to Jetstar

written by WOFA | December 7, 2012
Tiger's on the hunt for a new CEO.

Tiger Airways’ CEO Andrew David has reportedly accepted a newly-created role at Jetstar as CEO of the airline’s long-haul business.

A former Virgin Blue and Air New Zealand executive, David occupied the top role at Tiger for a little more than 12 months.  During that time he played the lead role to right-shape the airline after a disastrous 2011 and had been in the early stages of setting the strategy for Tiger under new majority ownership by Virgin Australia.

David moves to Jetstar at a time of likely further development of the airline’s network with the delivery of the 787s from the third quarter. He will stay in his current role while a new CEO for Tiger is found and an orderly transition is in place.  However, he is expected to take up the new role at Jetstar in June.
