Bombardier Aerospace delivered 233 aircraft during 2012, down on its 245 deliveries the year before.  However, the company received orders for 481 aircraft in 2012, eclipsing the 245 for the prior year.

Business aircraft made up 179 deliveries compared to 163 the previous year, while Bombardier received orders for 343 business jets in 2012, 152 more than 2011.

Deliveries of commercial aircraft were lower in 2012, with 50 delivered in 2012 compared to 78 the previous year.  However, the company received 138 orders compared to 54 for 2011.

The company’s president and chief operating officer, Guy Hachey, said the results were pleasing given the challenging economic climate.

“A number of our existing customers reaffirmed their confidence in Bombardier aircraft in 2012 with fleet growth and fleet replenishment orders, and we proudly welcomed new customers from emerging and traditional markets. Overall, we are seeing positive momentum across our entire product portfolio,” Hachey said.
