Middle East Airlines (MEA) has firmed orders for 10 A320neo aircraft, including five A320neo and A321neo jets for entry into service from late 2015.
The airline will make an engine selection at a later date. MEA will add the new jets to its existing all-Airbus fleet of four A330-200s, four A321s and 10 A320s.
Airbus has received orders for 1,600 A320neo-family aircraft since the program’s launch in 2010. The manufacturer estimates fuel savings of approximately 15 per cent as a result of aerodynamic improvements and engine fuel efficiency.
