Diamond Aircraft’s DA40-XLS has been awarded 2012 Plane of the Year by respected online publisher Aero News Network.
The publication gave the accolade to the DA40 stating: “With a modern glass cockpit and digital autopilot now available, the 150kt DA40 XLS has a 720nm range at 75 per cent power, burning all of 10 gallons per hour and can easily handle 20kt crosswinds… delightful handling, excellent low-speed manners, incredible visibility, and lovely styling make the DA40 XLS a winner.”
Tony Jones, Hawker Pacific’s senior vice president said the news marked a welcome start to the new year for Diamond, Hawker Pacific and its customers.
“Diamond Aircraft has a reputation of producing tough, versatile and reliable aircraft which continue to surpass expectations. The proof is in the pudding and, what’s more, behind the DA40-XLS is a whole range of incredible Diamond aircraft which we are proud to represent,” he added.
“The DA40-XLS continues to receive a lot of interest in the market from private buyers and both the DA40 and DA42 twin trainers are proven as the best training aircraft. It’s for these reasons that we’ll be showcasing the DA40-XLS on static display at this year’s Australian International Airshow at Avalon.”
