Australian Aerospace and the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) have entered into a partnership to support two airworthy ex RAAF Caribou transport aircraft.

Announcing the sponsorship deal at the Avalon Airshow, Dr Jens Goennemann, Australian Aerospace chief executive, said: “These are just two of the few surviving flying examples of the Caribou, and their importance to Australia’s history and heritage cannot be overstated. Their legacy is worth preserving, and I’ve no doubt these aircraft will prove a popular tourist attraction and a valuable historical example, particularly for younger generations and new settlers, on the important contribution the Caribou made to Australia in times of both peace and war.”

Australian Aerospace provided maintenance support for the Caribou in its latter years of RAAF service.
