Safe Air downsizes

written by WOFA | June 17, 2013

Blenheim, New Zealand-based maintenance, repair and overhaul business Safe Air has entered consultation with staff over a proposed restructure of the business, which is likely to see around 80 roles removed from across the business including management, support staff and production staff.

“Since 2005 Safe Air has been supporting the upgrades of the Royal New Zealand Air Force’s C-130 Hercules and P3 Orion aircraft fleets,” the company said announcing the restructure. “As these programs are concluded over the coming 12 months it is necessary to reposition the business for reduced future work flow.

“The prime focus now is to work through the consultation with staff to finalise the company’s future structure and to support staff through this change.”

Safe Air is a subsidiary of Air New Zealand.
