Fractional ownership operator Flexjet has experienced a surge in demand that is seeing it accelerate its pilot intake.

Before the end of the year, the company plans to add another 20 pilots to its ranks as it takes delivery of a new generation of Learjet aircraft from late this year as the launch customer for the new Learjet 85.

The US-based company, which has now been business for 18 years, operates a fleet of 79 Learjet and Challenger aircraft. It recently reported a 96 per cent increase in business compared with the first six months of 2013.
