Heron reaches 20,000hr milestone

RAAF Air Component Commander Group Captain Tony McCormack stands alongside members of the Heron Remotely Piloted Aircraft Detachment (Rotation 13) following the completion of 20,000 flying hours in Afghanistan.

The ADF’s Heron remotely piloted aircraft has achieved 20,000 flying hours during operations in Afghanistan.

The Heron Detachment, based at Kandahar Air Field, is made up of personnel from the three Services and is supported by contractors and locally-engaged employees.
