After decades of debate it looks possible a decision may be forthcoming on a second airport for Sydney. In what promises to be a lively debate on the subject, the next Royal Aeronautical Society Sydney Branch is holding a panel discussion to consider the factors driving the decision, planning considerations and the technologies needed to make a second airport a transformational opportunity.

The discussion will also consider what opportunities exist for the aviation industry in the development of a new airport.

Former head of operations for Qantas and former chairman of Airservices, David Forsyth, will facilitate a panel of leading aviation experts, including Warren Mundy who headed the steering committee for the Joint Study on Aviation Capacity in the Sydney Region, Captain Chris Manning, current chair of the Australian Aviation Associations Forum and former Qantas chief pilot, Bob Meyer who is director of planning at Cox Richardson architects and planners, and Tony Webber, former chief economist for Qantas.

The event will be held at the New Law School Lecture Theatre 101, Eastern Avenue, University of Sydney at 1830 on November 27. Information is available via the Royal Aeronautical Society Sydney Branch.
