Sichuan Airlines’ first twice weekly service to Sydney from Chengdu and Chongqing touched down on Friday.

The new flights are the first to directly link Sydney with western China, and are being operated by two-class, 301-seat Airbus A330-300s.

It is Sichuan Airlines’ second service to Australia, after launching Chengdu-Melbourne services in February.
