written by WOFA | January 9, 2014

Qantas is flying the cast and crew of the hit television show Modern Family to Australia in February, with the an episode of the award-winning sitcom to be filmed here over a period of two weeks.

“Qantas is the biggest private investor in promoting Australia as a destination, and the United States is one of the biggest source markets for people visiting our country. An estimated 25 million people will watch this episode when it first airs, which is fantastic exposure and great news for tourism,” Qantas CEO Alan Joyce said.

Qantas also supported the 2013 visit to Australia by talk show host Ellen Degeneres, which it says “provided a 22 per cent increase in inbound flights to New South Wales alone, as well as overall boost in destination awareness for Australia”.
