Tigerair has graduated its first group of Queensland-based cabin crews as it prepares to open a new Brisbane base on March 11.

The initial group will be followed by a second group on February 25 to provide a total of 50 cabin crew members and managers required to open the new base.

“We’ve been really happy with the professionalism and high calibre of candidates in Queensland,” Tigerair’s head of inflight services, Amanda Craig, said in a statement. “The response to our recruitment drive has been fantastic. Tigerair is a brand that is all about enabling everyday Australians to see more of their backyard more often. We’ve been keen to recruit people with the right customer focused attitude and a “can do” spirit, as well as having some mandatory pre-requisites.”

Two new A320s will support Tigerair’s operations from Brisbane and will primarily be employed on new Brisbane-Adelaide, Brisbane-Darwin, and Brisbane-Cairns services.
