Japan Air Lines subsidiary Japan Transocean Air (JTA) has selected the Boeing 737-800 to replace its fleet of 737-400s on regional services from the island of Okinawa.

The agreement with Boeing is for 12 -800s, and allows JTA the flexibility to change to the 737MAX if required.
