Northrop Grumman Australia has completed its takeover of Qantas Defence Services, which is now known as Northrop Grumman Integrated Defence Services. Qantas announced the sale of the subsidiary for $80 million in August 2013.

Northrop Grumman said in a statement that “IDS operates as a part of Northrop Grumman Australia and is strategically aligned with the Integrated Logistics and Modernization division of Northrop Grumman Technical Services”.

“Northrop Grumman IDS enhances our in-country footprint and local capabilities, and demonstrates our commitment to the Australian and regional defence markets. We expect this to be an important platform for international growth in our key focus areas of unmanned, cyber, C4ISR, and logistics and modernisation,” said Ian Irving, Northrop Grumman chief executive for Australia.
