The Airbus A320 final assembly line (FAL) being built in Mobile, Alabama is rapidly taking shape.

Airbus says the steel structure of the main assembly building is nearly complete and the nearby utility powerhouse is also close to being finished.

Work started on the site in April last year, and manufacturing engineers, station managers and quality managers have already started their training on the A320 FAL in Hamburg, Germany.

Airbus has three A320 Family FALS – one each in Hamburg, Toulouse in France, and Tianjin in China. The Mobile FAL will employ some 1,000 people, with production scheduled to commence in 2015.
