Bombardier Aerospace has announced that its new Challenger 350 business jet has been awarded Transport Canada (TC) certification.

The certification allows deliveries to commence to Canadian customers, and the company expects certification from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to follow shortly.

“With Transport Canada certification of the Challenger 350 aircraft program in-hand, another significant milestone has been achieved,” Bombardier Vice-President and General Manager, Challenger Programs, Stephane Leblanc said in a statement. “Featuring a groundbreaking cabin design, new range capability and lowest-in-class operating costs, no opportunity has been overlooked to improve on the platform’s segment-leading excellence. With increased performance, definitive reliability and unmatched value, the Challenger 350 aircraft has a strong future and we are confident that it will earn the appreciation of executives, pilots and operators around the world.”

The Challenger 350 is a development of the familiar Challenger 300, and offers new Honeywell HTF7350 engines with 33kN of thrust each, new canted winglets, and a range of nearly 6,000km.
