Jetstar commenced services between Melbourne and Ayers Rock Airport (Uluru) on June 29, with the inaugural flight JQ 664 departing Tullamarine with a full load.

“We’ve seen a really positive response from travellers since we announced these flights in March and bookings remain strong,” Jetstar Australia and New Zealand CEO David Hall said in a statement. “There’s no doubt this direct service, with a flight time of just over three hours, will make holidaying at Uluru a more attractive proposition for Victorian travellers. Previously, Victorians wanting to visit Uluru had to either travel on a chartered flight or via Sydney where the journey could take up to seven hours.”

The services from Melbourne operate every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with a flight time of three hours and 20 minutes. Departure time from Melbourne is 9:30am with a 12:20 arrival, and the return flight departs Uluru at 1:00pm and lands at 4:05pm.
