Qantas and Airnorth have announced their codeshare agreement will be extended to include Airnorth’s new services between Darwin and Cairns via Gove from August 18.

The two airlines already codeshare on Airnorth’s services Darwin and Dili, Mount Isa, Gold Coast, Townsville, Port Hedland and Karratha (via Broome).

“We’re pleased that we’re expanding our codesharing arrangement with Airnorth to include the Darwin-Gove-Cairns route,” Qantas executive manager Steve Limbrick said. “This means that our customers travelling to and from Gove will be able to continue to earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points, enjoy seamless connectivity and have their luggage checked straight through to their final destination.”

Qantas announced last month that it was giving up its services to Gove, and Airnorth stepped in almost immediately to service the mining centre.
