Boeing has announced that TRU Simulation + Training has been selected to supply full-flight training suites for the 737MAX.

The company says the initial suite will include a full-flight simulator, a flat-panel training device and 10 desktop trainers. The suite is expected to be available to 737MAX customers from 2017 to coincide with the re-engined 737’s service entry.

“Our flight training assets – including our state-of-the-art full-flight training suites – provide customers the benefit of Boeing’s knowledge and expertise while incorporating the highest standards in technology and simulation,” vice president of Boeing Flight Services, Sherry Carbary said in a statement. “We are pleased to be working with TRU Simulation + Training to deliver that high level of quality and fidelity to our customers.”

Boeing says airlines who operate current model 737NGs who have also ordered the new 737MAX can continue training new pilots on one of 14 Next-Generation 737 full-flight simulators within the Boeing Flight Services training network, followed by a short differences training course for the 737MAX, while pilots already certified on the current 737NG will not require a simulator course to transition to the 737MAX.
