Qantas has broken ground on a new domestic business lounge at Perth Airport due for completion in 2015.
The new 1,365m2 facility with capacity for 350 people would increase lounge capacity in Perth by 30 per cent, Qantas said on Monday
Perth joins Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney as the fifth airport with both a Qantas Club and domestic business lounge.
“From a dedicated work zone with meeting room and conference facilities to a dedicated dining area offering a ‘dish of the day’ and all day barista service, the business lounge will give our most frequent flyers the ability to work or unwind in luxury,” Qantas domestic head of customer strategy Philip Capps said in a statement.
The domestic business lounge was open to Qantas business class customers, platinum and platinum one Qantas frequent flyers, passengers with equivalent status with Emirates as well as those with oneworld emerald status.
Qantas currently operates a Chairman’s Lounge and Qantas Club in the domestic precinct, as well as a business lounge at the international terminal.
