An Airbus helicopter engineer has been among those honoured at the Aviation/Aerospace Australia awards.

Brisbane-based Kathleen Boseley, who is deputy chief engineer (sustainment) for the MRH90 with Airbus Group Australia Pacific, took out the “Outstanding Performance in Engineering and Technology” category at the Women in Aviation/Aerospace Australia awards.

Boseley said the award was an unexpected, but very pleasant surprise.

“It is great to be recognised for the important work that we do on the MRH90 multi-role helicopter which has such a vital role to play within the Australian Defence Force,” Boseley said in a statement.

Airbus Group Australia Pacific managing director Jens Goennemann said he hoped Boseley’s award would inspire other women considering a career in the aerospace industry.
