The aircraft, registered VH-NYZ, will service the company’s oil and gas clients, and was officially presented to Bond managing director John Boag at the Avalon Airshow on Wednesday.

Sikorsky Aircraft commercial systems and services vice president Ed Beyer said at Avalon that he was thrilled to have the first S-92 helicopter for Bond at the airshow, joining the 240-odd aircraft already in service around the world.

A second S-92 helicopter is in Brisbane and Bond has two more on order.

It is the first time an S-92 has been on public display at Avalon.

At the end of the airshow the S-92 will fly to Adelaide and Perth before heading north to Truscott-Mungalalu Airport, northern Western Australia in support of Bond’s offshore helicopter services supporting oil and gas exploration companies.
