Etihad Airways has appointed a 25-year industry veteran with experience across Europe, the Americas and India as its new general manager for Australia and New Zealand.
The Abu Dhabi-based carrier says Sarah Built will move to Australia from London, where she has been Etihad’s manager for global industry sales since joining the company in 2011.
Built, who has previously worked with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, American Airlines and Jet Airways will report to Etihad vice president for Asia Pacific South and Australasia Lindsay White.
Etihad is due to deploy its Airbus A380 on the Abu Dhabi-Sydney route, as well as the Boeing 787-9 between Brisbane and the United Arab Emirates capital, from early June.
The airline also recently promoted Rohan Farrance to manager for Western Australia. He was previously based in Sydney as one of Etihad’s national account managers.
