Virgin Australia has renewed and extended its agreement with airline IT company Sabre Technology.
The new agreement will see Virgin extend and expand its use of Sabre’s SabreSonic system, which would allow the airline to “progressively implement a wide range of Sabre solutions, including SabreSonic retailing and personalisation solutions,” Sabre said in a statement.
“Additionally, the agreement enables the use of SabreSonic Select shopping capabilities, mobile solution and other software to support the airline’s focus on personalisation and traveller experience,” Sabre said on July 16.
Sabre said it would now work with Virgin Australia to “identify opportunities for revenue generation and guest satisfaction enhancements”.
Virgin Australia switched to the a Sabre-based solution for its bookings and passenger check-in in January 2013.
“Our partnership with Sabre has enabled us to strengthen our global presence with our customers, our alliance partners and our sales partners.” Virgin Australia chief information officer Lawrie Turner said.
“We are now building on this partnership, and will work with Sabre to ensure we deliver a seamless, world-class customer experience across all international and domestic markets.”
Virgin Australia partner and shareholder Etihad Airways also now uses Sabre for its reservation system.
