After three years in Sydney, aviation consulting house CAPA – Centre for Aviation is taking its annual Australia Pacific Aviation Summit to Brisbane in 2016.
The 2016 event will be held in August is supported by Brisbane Marketing, Brisbane Airport Corporation and Tourism and Events Queensland.
Brisbane was unveiled as the 2016 host city on Wednesday, the final day of the 2015 Summit in Sydney.
CAPA said in a statement it planned an expansion of the program agenda in 2016, with topics such as aerospace, maintenance, repair and overhaul, safety, airline IT and skills and training in the industry all up for potential discussion.
“Our international guests and local deletes will be exposed to the tremendous business, travel and tourism opportunities that exist in Brisbane,” CAPA executive chairman Peter Harbison said in a statement.
“Our hosts will have the opportunity to showcase the unprecedented investment in facilities and services that is occurring in the city and surrounding region.”
Final dates and the conference venue were yet to be confirmed.
