Tickets for the express train service that links Brisbane Airport with the city and onwards to the Gold Coast will be able to be sold through through travel agents under a new distribution arrangement with travel technology Travelport.
Travel agents that use Travelport will be able to offer tickets for the train service to their customers booking flights into or out of Brisbane, Travelport said in a statement.
The chief executive of the Brisbane Airport train service, Airtrain, Chris Basche said Travelport would provide a “huge reach to grow our sales”, with 67,000 travel agents around the world.
Airtrain is the second rail provider to work with Travelport, which started offering tickets for London’s Heathrow Express in March 2015 through its Airport Express app designed for airport express services.
Travelport vice president for Asia Pacific and global sales strategy, Air Commerce, Damian Hickey said the company was looking to expand its train offering.
“We are pleased to partner with Airtrain to help them grow via the travel agency channel,” Hickey said.
“We look forward to adding further partners to our system and providing our agents with the preferred tools and convenient access to book this mode of transport.”
