Convenor of the Australian Helicopter Industry Association (AHIA) and industry stalwart Rob Rich has resigned from his role and executive position on the association’s board for a well-earned retirement, which became effective on June 30.
“Rob’s passion and enthusiasm for the helicopter industry has not wavered in the almost 50 years I have known him,” said AHIA president Peter Crook, who thanked him for his service in a statement on August 19.
“It was his foresight that saw the need for a helicopter industry representative body and in November 2012 the AHIA was incorporated.
“Without this representation the industry would not be as well off as it is today.”
Rich, a very experienced civil and military instructor pilot, examiner of airmen and trainer, has been awarded an inaugural AHIA life membership in recognition of his dedication to the association and the helicopter industry.
