This edition of the Australian Aviation podcast talks with Shannon Samarasekera and Stephen Limkin from Outback Aviators.
Both Samarasekera and Limkin were looking for something fun and some adventure in aviation when they came across the “Outback Air Race”.
The pair had only 2-3 months to make a plan, find a plane, gather sponsors and organise personal lives. With some good old-fashioned hard work, deep determination and modern day hustle, they managed to put it together and made it to the line on race day.
Listen in as they share their story and background, as well as some of the decisions and human factors that played such a large role in their trip in a Sling 2 from Brisbane to Broome and back.
You can find out more about their trip at outbackaviators.com.
