United Airlines Holdings, Inc. has announced the appointment of Rosalind (Roz) Brewer to its Board of Directors. Brewer, admired for her leadership roles and hailed by Fortune and Forbes as one of the “Most Powerful Women in Business,” brings a wealth of CEO-level experience to the airline.

Scott Kirby, CEO of United Airlines, applauded the new addition to the team, expressing high expectations for Brewer’s contribution. “He said Brewer’s strategic acumen and visionary leadership make her the right addition to our already strong Board of Directors as we plan for the long-term success of United Airlines,” Kirby noted. He highlighted Brewer’s significant achievements in innovation and digital transformation as key factors that will benefit United.

Brewer’s recent role as President and CEO of Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. saw her leading the company through the triumphs and challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, driving innovation, and enhancing customer engagement. Her past experience also includes a pivotal role as Chief Operating Officer of Starbucks Corporation and as President and CEO of Sam’s Club, a division of Walmart Inc.

With a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Spelman College, Brewer continues to contribute significantly to various philanthropic endeavors, particularly in the arenas of education, healthcare, and economic empowerment. Her dedication to supporting future generations of leaders and her active involvement in charitable causes illustrate her commitment to making a difference beyond her professional endeavors.
