Singapore Airlines (SIA) will increase flight frequencies and passenger capacity across its network for the 2025 Northern Summer operating season, responding to higher travel demand.
The airline announced several key changes to its schedule for the period from 30 March to 25 October 2025.
SIA will offer a daily service to London Gatwick, up from the current five weekly flights. This will give the carrier five daily services to London when combined with its four daily flights to Heathrow.
Mr Dai Haoyu, Acting Senior Vice President Marketing Planning at Singapore Airlines, said the adjustments cater to increased demand, particularly during the peak mid-year travel season.
“These adjustments, ahead of next summer, cater to the higher demand to several destinations, particularly during the traditional mid-year peak travel season, enabling our customers to confidently make their 2025 travel plans,” he said.
Services to Rome will increase to five times a week between late June and late August 2025, up from the current four weekly flights.
The airline will also delink its Singapore-Milan-Barcelona route from June to September 2025, operating more direct flights between Singapore and the two European cities instead. Barcelona will see an increase to five weekly direct flights, while Milan will have a daily service.
Flights to Adelaide will increase to 10 per week across the Northern Winter 2024 and Northern Summer 2025 seasons, up from the current daily service.
Ho Chi Minh City frequencies will rise to thrice daily, while Siem Reap services will double to twice daily.
SIA will add a three-times weekly service to Johannesburg during peak periods, bringing total flights to 10 times a week.
However, the airline will suspend services to Houston via Manchester from 1 April 2025, while maintaining five weekly direct flights between Singapore and Manchester.
Mr Haoyu said SIA regularly reviews its network to align capacity with demand.
The Airbus A380 will return to Tokyo Narita between late March and May 2025 on one of the two daily services. However, it will stop operating to Mumbai and Delhi for parts of July and August 2025, replaced by the Boeing 777-300ER.
