The P2006T has received US FAA certification.

Tecnam’s P2006T four seat light twin has received US FAA certification.

The certification comes after similar recognition from Europe’s EASA in June, and paves the way for sales to ramp up in the US.

“A whole bunch of people said they’d get back to us when the aircraft became certified,” Ben Young, VP of business development and marketing, Tecnam North America, said. “In the next three weeks, we will have a good understanding of our tempo for 2011.”

Young added that he is pushing the 2006T at the small air taxi market where he expects it to compete against aircraft like the single engined Cirrus SR22.
