The US Air Force has taken delivery of the second production C-5M Super Galaxy airlifter, as Lockheed Martin progresses with the Reliability Enhancement and Re-Engining Program (RERP).
The aircraft, which will now undergo “internal paint restoration” at Stewart Air National Guard Base in New York, is the fifth upgraded C-5M to enter service with the USAF.
Lockheed Martin is currently under contract to upgrade 52 C-5s (49 B, two C and one A models) to C-5M standard.
