Virgin Australia launches new Brisbane lounge

written by WOFA | July 27, 2011

Virgin Australia has launched its new, 200-seat airport lounge at Brisbane’s domestic terminal, designed by architect Tim Greer of Tonkin Zulaikha Greer.

The redesigned lounge features four main areas – a central lounge seating area with fabric and leather chairs, a ‘hearth dining’ area by the main entrance for “communal dining and socialising”, a ‘long bar’ featuring a buffet, drinks and a coffee barista service, and a lounge ‘library’ designated quiet zone.

Design features of the lounge include Marblo bars, timber panelling and Barrisol panels in the ceiling, vertical glass screens, digital artwork by Daniel von Strummer, and Walter Knoll leather chairs.

Amenities include wifi, bar service from 11am, all hours barista service, menus designed by chef Luke Mangan with “fresh, quality ingredients”, and skincare products.

The new lounge is the first element of Virgin Australia’s upgrade of its Brisbane domestic terminal, which will be launched in “coming months”.
