Boeing says orders for 30 from unnamed customers this week has taken firm orders for its 737 MAX program to over 2,000.

In all firm orders for the 737 MAX now stand at 2,010 aircraft from 39 customers. Boeing says the MAX has reached the 2,000 order milestone faster than any previous Boeing airliner program.

Boeing says the 737 MAX will be 14 per cent more fuel-efficient than its latest Next-Generation 737s and 20 per cent more fuel-efficient compared to early-build 737NGs. Changes to the MAX over the 737NG include new CFM LEAP-1B engines, aerodynamic enhancements including new winglets, and 787-style large flightdeck displays.
