Airlines around the world use their passenger planes as freighters since the air travel was severely hit by the COVID pandemic.
US senators voted late on Wednesday to approve a $2 trillion coronavirus rescue package for the country, which includes more than $58 billion in aid for the aviation industry.
The Singaporean government announced late on Sunday that all short-term travellers would be prohibited from entering the country - including passengers transiting through Changi Airport.
Thai Airways is planning to suspend most of its flights by 1 April. The airline said it had been reluctant to cut its capacity but, with more nearby countries closing their borders, it had been left with no choice.
Thailand has become the latest in a long list of countries closing its borders for international travel.
