European travellers could see more disruption to their travel plans as airline and airport workers across the continent prepare to strike, as they lobby for better pay and working conditions in the aftermath of the COVID pandemic.

The six-engine behemoth — dubbed ‘Mriya’, or ‘Dream’ in Ukrainian — was the world’s largest cargo plane and a favourite of enthusiasts worldwide.

The agency said it would fund one or more projects to design, build and test a “large-scale demonstrator,” which is scheduled to include an airframe configuration and related technologies.

The airline has instead asked shareholders to back a bid from low-cost rival Frontier Group Holdings at a meeting on Thursday.

Airports Council International’s latest report said the industry is struggling to deal with “significant headwinds” such as labour shortages, inflation and the risk of an economic downturn.

Maverick is already nestled in the top 50  biggest money-making movies of all time and is likely to land in the top 30 should it continue to hold its huge audience.
