Macquarie opens Singapore office

written by WOFA | October 14, 2009

Dublin based Macquarie AirFinance has chosen to open an Asia Pacific office in Singapore. The Singapore office will be staffed initially by Australian Harry Forsythe, vice president marketing, Asia Pacific.

John Willingham, chief executive officer of Macquarie AirFinance, commented, “We are excited to have an established office presence in Asia/Pacific and are eager to assist airlines in the region in developing their fleets through sale and leasebacks and leases of aircraft from our existing portfolio. This fast growing, highly populated region, with its healthy appetite for young aircraft, presents ideal prospects for our business model.”

Macquarie AirFinance was established in 2006 through the acquisition of the aircraft leasing assets of GATX Corporation. It currently manages a portfolio of 123 jet aircraft.
