MT Propeller has developed a five blade prop for the PC-12.

MT Propeller has received an FAA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the retrofit of a new five bladed propeller to the Pilatus PC-12.

The company says that the five bladed, scimitar shaped composite prop increases the performance of the PC-12, with ground roll distance reduced by approximately 15 per cent, a five per cent reduction in takeoff distance over a 50ft obstacle, and up to a 5kt increase in cruise speed. In addition, it weighs less than the original Hartzell prop, while cabin noise is reduced by 3-4dB.
