Qantas ups Queenstown flights

written by WOFA | June 4, 2010

Qantas has announced that it will increase services between Melbourne and Queenstown to support demand over the peak summer period and the upcoming ski season.

Qantas will operate an additional weekly flight from December 18 until January 29 from Melbourne to Queenstown each Saturday. The flights will be operated by Boeing 737-800s.

“The extra capacity will benefit the New Zealand tourism industry and we are pleased to offer our customers an extra service each week on top of our existing three return services per week on the Melbourne to Queenstown route,” said Qantas’s regional general manager New Zealand and Pacific Islands, Grant Lilly.

Qantas will also offer supplementary flights during the winter ski season between Melbourne and Brisbane and Queenstown. The additional flights will operate on Saturdays for 13 weeks from June 26.
