Testing of the Raytheon/Boeing Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM) has been successful in a recent firing at the White Sands missile range in New Mexico.
The weapon, designed to replace the Hellfire and Maverick missiles in US and allied service, scored a direct hit on a 2.5 x 2.5m target from a distance of 16km. JAGM uses a tri-mode seeker comprising a laser, an infrared imaging sensor and a millimetre wave sensor, and leverages technology from programs such as the Boeing Brimstone and Raytheon’s SDB II.
