SuperJet completes static tests

written by WOFA | September 17, 2010

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Corporation (SCAC) has announced that the SuperJet 100 has completed its static testing program as part of its efforts to achieve type certification for the regional jet.

The testing was conducted at the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI) in Russia, and involved extensive on-ground strength testing of a number of key structures for the aircraft. The parts have been exposed to different loads up to 150 per cent more than the normal operating conditions and all aircraft components performed at the expected level.

SCAC says that the four prototype SSJ100s have made 842 flights and accumulated more than 2070 flying hours in various conditions as part of its certification campaign.
