Hawker Pacific is to expand its regional headquarters in Singapore, announcing the development of a customer sales and service centre at Seletar Aerospace Park.
The S$15m (A$11.6m) 9400sq m Private Jet Centre (PJC) will feature a fully equipped heavy maintenance jet service centre, spares distribution, a re-paint facility, FBO facilities including VIP reception and customer and crew lounges, and dedicated undercover jet parking.
Senior vice president of Hawker Pacific Asia, John Riggir, said that the new service centre would be “significantly larger” than the company’s current Seletar facility at East Camp which it will replace, “to meet the increasing demand for our services in the region”. “It has been designed to increase work flow and enhance customer services, and provide exclusive total care solutions,” Riggir said.
“The facilities feature a purpose built 1250sqm paint facility that complies with the latest in environmental design standards, and has the space to undertake refurbishments up to Boeing BBJ size aircraft.”
In addition, there will be a 3000sq m heavy maintenance hangar and a 2500sq m line maintenance and customer parking hangar equipped with its own integrated flight department offices. A further 2500sq m of space will also be dedicated to workshops, spare parts storage, sales, administration, management, FBO facilities and a training centre.
CEO Alan Smith highlighted the opportunities for Hawker to capitalise on its market position in the region. “This investment reflects our commitment to, and confidence in, the Asia Pacific region, and presents a significant platform to further strengthen Hawker Pacific’s sales and FBO network for growth in the future,” Smith said.
An official signing ceremony will take place at Boustead Singapore on February 22, with Hawker aiming for a “completion and move-in date” by late December 2011 to allow an official opening ceremony at Singapore Airshow 2012.
