Airservices VHF project takes out AIPM award

Airservices Australia has received top honours at this year’s Queensland Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) awards, after completing a major project to enhance communications between aircraft and air traffic controllers.

The project, which was announced the winner in AIPM’s Telecommunications Technology category, saw Airservices undertake a major upgrade of the Very High Frequency (VHF) radio network with new digital equipment installed at 36 air traffic control communication sites in Australia.
