Eight RAAF F/A-18 Hornets and six Indonesian Air Force (TNI-AU) F-16s are among the aircraft from both nations taking part in the bilateral Elang Ausindo 2011 exercise, which began on September 5.

The RAAF has deployed eight F/A-18A Hornets, two C-130 Hercules and one C-17A Globemaster to Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport, as they exercise with the six TNI-AU F-16s plus two C-130s.

The RAAF contingent is led by Commander Air Combat Group, AIRCDRE Mel Hupfield, while the TNI-AU’s Colonel Emir Panji Dermawan heads the Indonesian force.
