Hawker Pacific and Aviation Australia sign training pact

written by WOFA | June 13, 2012

Aircraft mechanical engineering students studying at Aviation Australia will get the opportunity to gain advanced hands-on experience at Hawker Pacific’s Cairns facility after the two organisations signed a new agreement on June 12.

Under the new arrangements, students undertaking Aviation Australia’s two year International Training Diploma program at its Brisbane campus will relocate to Cairns to undertake 10 weeks of intensive practical experience with Hawker Pacific.

“This concept was trialed with three individuals in 2011 and the success of that program has developed into the agreement that has been reached today,” said Hawker Pacific vice president of aircraft support services. “We expect this to be a long and mutually beneficial partnership which we see as a great strategic fit for

Hawker Pacific, particularly as we look to continue to grow our organisation internationally.”

A group of 10 engineers from the Royal Oman Police will be the first to go through the program from early August.
